HHS Class of 1961
For a few hours, O God, in our sacred place of memories, we will touch
things that once were. Help us to handle them with reverent warmth and
care. To visit the once was is your gift to us tonight.
But too, O God, we come together after 40 years as the who we have
become, For each of us those 40 years have shaped us in ways we could
never have imagined. And we are deeper now. And life is so much more
precious now. So help us to touch each other tonight not only as old
friends but as new friends as well.
And as we do that - as we remember and make new - let your Spirit be
here that we might be blessed with your peace and joy.
To You, O God, creator and sustainer of us all, we pray.
As delivered by the Reverend Donald Richard Williams, pastor of the
Ardmore United Methodist Church, Ardmore, Pa., at the 40th class reunion
